Due to the recent burglaries in Jal, the Jal Police Department would like to
encourage you to complete an inventory of your home. This would include
writing all of the pertinent information of all valuable items in your home. By
completing an inventory, you would save valuable time during an investigation
if anything of value was to taken from your home. One of the most difficult
challenges for the Police Department during an investigation, is trying to locate
an item that has been stolen, but there is no pertinent information (i.e. serial
numbers, model numbers, or identifying features) for the item(s) stolen.
Another idea for you, would be to place a permanent mark or feature on your
valuable items. We will proveide a worksheet that you could use to complete
this inventory. The worksheet will be available on our web site, www.jalpd.com,
or at the police department. Once you have completed the inventory, place it
in a safe place. If, God forbid, your house does get burglarized, you could
provide this information to the Police Department. We at the Jal Police
